About our winner

While browsing the antiques market in Winchester I came across a stall selling hand made jewellery and individual bead's I could not resist buying some beads and making something for myself. This was the start of my obsession back in 1995. Since then I graduated from my art/teaching degree, taught primary school children, had two children of my own and taught a beading class for Bracknell and Wokingham college.

My sister was the inspiration to start selling my jewellery rather than just make it as presents for friends and family when she bought me someone else's jewellery for my birthday.

I have now begun to make my own polymer beads as I cannot always find the focal beads I want for a piece and hope to make some to sell.

The swirl beads on the bracelet for the challenge are my own polymer beads, they are accompanied by wire coils and caged beads. I initially intended to add more dangles but my husband and a discussion on the UK beaders forum, convinced me more is less in this instance. I also tried different colour beads in the cages but the pink seemed to lift the swirls. I also decided that as everything else on the bracelet was made by me I would make the clasp too. At some point in all my designs I tend to sketch out different possibilities and this is where I decided that an 's' clasp with matching bead would look good.

I have had my web site www.beadesired.com for just over a year now and never fail to feel proud when I see the culmination of my hard work.

We are also very proud to announce....

will be awarding a fabulous prize of a £10 gift voucher to spend in their web store (www.allthatjazz-crafts.co.uk) to the  the winning entrant.
